Some of you may remember Pável from his visit to the Portland Gym, and SBGi Camps. He is a great guy, and welcome addition to the SBGi tribe.

A note from Pavel:

Its a HUGE honor to be a part of this wonderful community called SBGi, I hope we can represent its high standard. We are a little group that has learned so much form SBGi, and continue to learn everyday. The crew in Portland is awesome! Everyone is welcome to train with when you are around, even we are pretty far from everythin :)
Thanks Matt for the years of sharing and Mike for all the help so far.

Its awesome!

SBG PDX goes 2 - 0 in MMA!

This last Saturday night Toshi and Bill from the Portland Gym both won their fights in convincing fashion. Bill gave up nearly 20 lbs to his very game opponent. But still managed an armlock at 27 seconds of the first round. Toshi fought a very tough wrestler from Wa State, and won by TKO, punches from mount, at about a minute into the second round.

They both worked very hard for it, and we were all happy for them. We had the typical after hours Portland Gym party for them at the dark Chinese restuarant, packing the back banquet room, and enjoying the community vibe.

SBGi Estonia goes 2 - 0 in MMA!

...in last thaiboxing/mma event last night in Estonia.

Lauri Ülenurm took his opponent down after catching a leg off a bodyick. Landed in halfguard, escaped a guillotine and ended up in mount. The fight was stopped in 1st rd via corner throwing in the towel after a long barrage of punches from the mount (the opponents face was a mess). He had his opponents back 2 times... once had him rolled over to guard from mount but swept right back.

Ott Tõnissaar had a gameplan to go in striking but his opponent rushed him so enthusiatically that he scored a double leg in the beginning of the round, ended up in guard. Had trouble with getting free from double overhooks, had some nice bodyslams from there, eventually passed into halfguard and his opponent tried to headlock and roll him over and Ott took his back and finished in 1st with RNC.

Congrats Rosi!

Congrats to SBG_UK's Rosi Sexton!

Once again she won her BODOG fight held in Vancouver BC. Rosi now stands as the only undefeated BODOG fighter, and the top female fighter in the world at her weight!

A note from Karl regards the fight: "She fought a tecnnically superb match that i will let you see when aired... her opponent from Fedors camp was a real powerful striker and very strong on the ground."

Go Rosi!

Just returned late last night from the grand opening of the new Bellingham WA Gym. . great trip. Cody's got a very nice Gym set up, and already has a really cool group of athletes training.

Thanks to Travis for making a 9 hour drive to attend! And Rick, Diggins, JJ, Gabe and everyone else who came up and showed their support for Cody.

That is what SBGi is about.
