Congrats to new blues!

I recently returned from a weekend seminar at WCFC, the Bellingham WA SBGi run by Cody Houston. Just got back from a weekend of teaching up at Cody's WCFC. First off it's obvious Cody is doing great up there, all the students had solid games, moved really well, and knew what they were doing. All signs of some good coaching on Cody's part. Second, everyone was super nice, reflecting again the SBGi vibe. I couldn't be more impressed.

Also, congrats to the three new blue belts I awarded while there. Eddie (silverback) Serrano (who weighs about 280) easily moves like someone half his weight. Which is pretty scary. Johnny "Spider Monkey" Murdock: Johnny is one the guys in the 130lb club who is used to always rolling with bigger stronger opponents so he has had to develop a slick and technical jits game.

Frank Pefferman: Frank is a natural with a strong work ethic and with limited time in the game he has already developed a well-rounded game. Not to mention he normally travels 10 hrs. to train here and spends about 6 hrs/day when he is here.

Big props to the WCFC crew . . I am proud to have them on board. They represent what SBGi is all about.

We also had a crop of new blue belts at the Portland gym to congratulate. The list includes Ramone, and Erik Carter. . . great job guys!

On a sad note Portland's own Toshi had to travel back to Japan for work, after spending several years here at the gym and becoming an integral part of the family. He will be missed!

Also, big congrats to new blues awarded by Luis Guiterrez while he was at the Naples FLA ATG . The list includes, Geoffrey Stephenson and Ben Custis. Great work guys! And good job to Fletch for coaching them through the game.
